Maeda Pacific Corporation celebrated its 30th year in business as a general contractor on Guam and Saipan in 2006. With more than 50 employees, not including numerous subcontractors, Maeda Pacific Corp. is one of the leading construction companies in the region. The company specializes in civil work including road construction, site development, earthmoving, utilities, demolition and environmental work. The company also specializes in construction and demolition debris (C & D) removal and processing.

 

Maeda Pacific Corp. is a subsidiary of Maeda Road Construction Co., Ltd. of Tokyo, Japan. Maeda Road is one of the leading road construction companies in Japan with a long history of successful projects both in Japan and overseas. Maeda Road’s annual sales average about $1.5 billion while Maeda Pacific annual sales range between $10 and $15 million.


The company believes strongly in safety for its employees and the work place as evidenced by its numerous safety awards from the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). In 2002 Maeda Pacific received a National Safety Award from ABC. Aside from a Safety Director, Maeda Pacific assigns a qualified Safety Officers to each project to insure all safety measures are implemented. All employees go through safety training before starting work and specialized training is provided when required. The company provides personal protective equipment (PPE’s) for its employees.

 

Through a partnership with Ericco LLC of Saipan, the company established Basula Produkto in 2001. Basula Produkto is primarily involved in the collection, processing and shipment off-island of recyclables such as metals, paper, plastics and tires. In 2007, in cooperation with the Mayor of Saipan, the partnership removed over 300 abandoned cars and shipped them off-island. In 2006, the partnership received and Environmental Award from the US Environmental Protection Agency for its efforts in recycling waste on Saipan and saving space at the landfill.


Maeda Pacific has a strong interest in the local community through employment opportunities, subcontracting to local small businesses and making contributions. Maeda Pacific is a member in good standing with the Guam Contractors Association as well as the Associated Builders and Contractors.
